As one noisy season seems sure to beg another, we’re left to ask what the result of all this loud-voiced anger shall (this time) be. If after copious choir preaching about oft-unsubstantiated “news” we were left shocked, for OUR audience seemed all on the same page (how was there ever even another side?), we have to wonder why these next days of rapture will be any different. The point can’t be to simply stop knocking, though such a temptation exists, but is there a better door on which bang? ‘But, I deserve THIS door,’ you say. No Veruca, you don’t. We don’t deserve any of this, not the sweet, not the sour. Nor are we owed it’s anecdote. So knock on, please, just know that the secret may well reside in your choice of door, not the pressure you choose to apply to it.

“There’s no sort of use in knocking … First, because I’m on the same side of the door as you are: secondly, because they’re making such a noise inside, no one could possibly hear you.” Lewis Carroll – Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
